Nice to see further exposure (in the nick of time!) for this great exhibition here. As a fellow lifelong fan of Watership Down, I dashed down to see the show a couple of weeks ago having read about it by chance elsewhere. Fascinating stuff and absolutely recommended. My only personal slight disappointment was little or no coverage of his other masterpiece: The Plague Dogs (1982) - which makes Watership Down look like the Care Bears movie by comparison! Bleak as.... but absolutely brilliant. Another harrowing watch from childhood.

Thanks John. I’ve never seen The Plague Dogs but Klive did mention it to me. I’ll have to find it online and check it out. Glad you liked the exhibition.

There’s a decent Blu-ray available - just make sure you pick one up with both cuts on it (the longer version being even bleaker than the theatrical release!) https://amzn.to/4hZjIqJ - highly, highly recommended.

PS. fortunately I have plenty of The Plague Dogs materials in my own collection, including these gems! https://lobby.cards/gallery/vintage-cinema-memorabilia/the-plague-dogs-1982/ :)

What a pity the exhibition closes on Saturday. We have family visiting at Easter who would have loved to have seen it.

Dan  4 weeks ago

Yeah, sorry about that Tim. Maybe it will come back at some point? Klive did say they were also thinking about turning the exhibition into a book.

Keep me informed please, Dan. A book of the exhibition sounds like a great Xmas present for everyone this coming December!

I do remember one enterprising butcher using the phrase. “You’ve read the book, seen the film, now eat the cast.” On a ticket for rabbit.
